Annapurna and Nilgiri mountain range is extended across the northern part of Mustang. Mustang is also in two parts; Upper Mustang and Lower Mustang. On the other hand, Lower Mustang is famous for natural scenery, culture and different beautiful landscapes.

Two ways are available to reach Mustang except trekking. Either it’s by bus or by air. To reach by bus it takes 6-7 hours from the Kathmandu to Pokhara then about 6 hours from there to Beni on a local bus or jeep. After reaching Beni, it takes almost 6 hours to reach Jomsom. Nowadays, there are private jeeps that are also available to reach out there from Kathmandu or Pokhara. Alternatively, there is a flight from Pokhara to Jomsom, it takes just 20 minutes to reach. The hotels and tea houses are available for your accommodation as per the area. The hotels that provide basic services, clean rooms and hygiene foods with a warm welcome. Jomsom is also known as Dzong-Sampa. There is the Jomsom airport that serves as the gateway to Muktinath temple. It lies at the altitude of 2700 M from the sea level. It extends over both the banks of the Kali Gandaki River. Along the bank of the Kali Gandaki River, there are rocks holy to the Hindus. Most of the people of Thakali and Tibetan are residing here.

Muktinath

Muktinath is one of the famous temples in the world surrounded by the snow-capped mountains. It’s also a religious place of Buddhists as well as Hindus. The temple is a popular religious attraction of Mustang Nepal. It is one of the holy places among four Dhams of Hindus. Muktinath temple is located at the altitude of 3710 M at the foot of the Thorong La Mountain. It is the temple of Lord Vishnu. There are 108 taps in the temple of ice-cold water. Kagbeni

Kagbeni is located in the valley of Kali Gandaki. Kali Gandaki was the major trading routes between Tibet and India before the entry of Chinese in Tibet. Salt was used to bring from Tibet and barley, spices and clothes from India. Kagbeni is the shortest trek of 2 hours from Muktinath to Jomsom.

Lo-Manthang

Trekking in this region begins from Pokhara where one can reach either by flight or by bus. Lo Mangthang village is one of the preserved destinations among visitors. Before it was restricted for tourist to travel. Trekking in the region is all about hiking through the almost treeless barren landscape, exploring of weird and wonderful scenery which colours of natural pigments-reds, yellows, browns and blues.

Thorong La Pass

Thorong La is the highest mountain pass in the world with an elevation of 5416 M. It is also the highest point on the Annapurna Circuit. Thorong La is the shortest version of the Annapurna circuit trek on the northeastern slopes of the Annapurna region. However, it is hard and thrilling, but rewards with some magnificent views of the Himalayas.
