Bandipur Hill 

Bandipur is a hill station which is located at an altitude of 1030m. This place is 148 km far from Kathmandu valley and 73 km far from Pokhara. Bandipur is the living museum of ancient Newari culture. This beautifully preserved village invites travellers to observe the panoramic view of the mountains and experience the hiking. 

Bandipur also presents an overwhelming mix of history, architecture, landscapes and awesome caves to the travellers. The main attractions of Bandipur are Silkworm Farm, Sidda Gufa, Thani Mai Temple, Gurungche Hill, Tundikhel, Bindhawashini temple, Khadga Devi Temple and Martyrs Memorial. Dhulikhel Hill 

Dhulikhel is one of the major tourist spots of Kavre located at an altitude of 1550 m. The main attractions of Dhulikhel are the view of rows of snow-capped peaks. From the edge of the ridge, a stunning panorama of peaks unfolds, from Langtang Lirung in the east, through Dorje Lakpa to the huge bulk of Gauri Shankar and nearby Melungtse(7181m) and as far as Numbur ( 5945m ) in the east. Devithan hillock is renowned for viewing sunrise and sunset, historic Newar settlement and the artistic temples of the town. 

Dhulikhel Hill

Dhulikhel is surrounded by rural villages, organic farms, historical sites, woodlands and forests with a huge assortment of fauna and flora. People can reach this place by taking a public bus or private vehicle from Kathmandu valley. Dhulikhel is nearby one of Nepal’s finest rafting rivers with a popular bungee jumping spot. Visitors also can do a day hiking from Dhulikhel to Namobudha.

Daman

Daman is a small beautiful village of Makawanpur district. It is located at an altitude of 2322 m from sea level. Daman village is situated 80 km southeast of Kathmandu. From Daman, you can see the greatest view of the biggest Himalayas of Nepal including Mt. Everest in the east and Dhaulagiri in the west. The activities available here are hiking, cycling, rocks climbing, a fishing trip to Kulekhani, pony ride etc. Daman is also famous for Sunrise and Sunset view from the top of the hill. One can visit this place any of the seasons but the best time to visit Daman is from March to May and from June to September.

Daman Hillstation

You can reach to Daman by taking a bus or private vehicle from Kathmandu, it takes about 3 and a half hour. There is some public transportation also available but in a fewer number. Sim Bhanjhyan is the peak of Daman, with an altitude of 2500m.

Sarangkot

Sarangkot is one of the famous destinations of Nepal among travellers. Majority numbers of visitors reach there to view beautiful mountains and sunrise. The panoramic view of sunrise and sunset from Sarangkot can blow any of our minds off. From Sarangkot beautiful valley Pokhara in the lap of Machhapuchhre Mountain can be seen. One of the famous Peace Pagoda is another attraction nearby Sarangkot. This lies on the top of the opposite hill. Paragliding and zip flyer also can be done from Sarangkot. It takes 40 minutes by taxi then 45 minutes hike is needed to reach to the main viewpoint. If You’re planning to go Pokhara then Sarangkot shouldn’t be missed.

Nagarkot is a hill station situated at a distance of 32 km from Kathmandu and 20 km from Bhaktapur. It is located at an altitude of 2000 m. Nagarkot is a favourite destination among both foreign and domestic tourists. This place is famous for sunrise and sunset view of the Himalayas including Mount Everest as well as other peaks of the Himalayan range of eastern Nepal. The scenic beauty of Nagarkot makes it a very popular hiking route for tourists and it also offers a panoramic view of the Kathmandu valley. Nagarkot is the place where once Manjushree Bodhisatto stood and watched the lake in the Kathmandu Valley.

You can go Nagarkot by public bus or taking a private vehicle from Kathmandu, it takes about one and half hour to reach. It is one of the popular hill stations in Nepal.

Palpa

Palpa is a great historical place of Nepal situated at the southern slope of Mahabharat range and Himalayas. It is located on the way from Pokhara to Lumbini which is 270 km far from Kathmandu valley and 125 km far from Pokhara.

Beautiful view of the mountains, clean environment, friendly people and ancient culture is the major attraction of Palpa. From Palpa you can see the highest peaks of Nepal including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu, Gauri Sankar in clear days. This place is also famous for good Dhaka. (most popular hand-knitted cloth) Rani Mahal, ( The Taj Mahal of Nepal ) Tansen Durbar( A historical King Palace ), Tansen Bajar and  Bhairabsthan Temple are some must-see attraction in Palpa. But the Rani Mahal is quite far from the Tansen city.

A very good side of Palpa is people can visit in any season throughout the year. The weather is always good and the temperature is stable. Visitors can reach Palpa by taking a public bus or private vehicle, it takes about 4-5 hours to reach there from Pokhara. 

Dadeldhura 

Dadeldhura is the queen of hills in the far western region of Nepal. The spectacular natural beauty and the wonderful sceneries from Dadeldhura make it a wonderful hill station in Nepal. It is popular for its rich historical attributes as well. The Amargadhi fort in Dadeldhura is associated with the unification of Nepal during the reign of King Prithvi Narayan Shah.

During the early 19th century, General Amar Singh Thapa and other militaries fought to unify Nepal as a single nation. The fort then served as a military base and used to store arms and ammunitions. The Ugratara Temple, Ramaroshan, Deughar temple, Kailpal Temple, Ajaimerukot etc. are some of the major temples and the attractions here. 

Moreover, the natural beauty, the culture and traditions, unspoiled human settlement and rural spectrums in the mountains are the major attractions here. The Dadeldhura is situated at an altitude of 1745 m above sea level and acts as a major vantage point in this region. 

Chandragiri 

The boundless beauty of Chandragiri is popular for its wonderful views and sceneries. The addition of park style accommodation and amenities atop the hill make it a wonderful vantage point. From there you can see the panoramic Himalayan views and lush greenery of the mountains. It is a highly admired destination for wonderful offerings and amazing beauty. The cable car services are available to reach the top of the mountain. And the first thing you will see while landing atop the hill is the extended mountain range, with lush greenery in the surroundings and a beautifully decorated Chandragiri hill. Kalinchowk 

Kalinchock is an important religious site for Hindu which is 150 kilometre east from Kathmandu city. It is a beautiful hill station at an altitude of 3800m. It is situated in the Dolakha district of northeastern Nepal which offers an amazing destination with the best Himalayan panorama. During winter most people visit to experience the snowfall but the worshipper visits Kalinchowk all around the year. Kalinchowk is also a part of the Gauri Sankar conservation area from where two rivers Sun Koshi and Tama Koshi river are originated.

Kalinchowk is popular for snowfall activities. During the winter season, this place observes snowfall and is a popular spot to play with the snow. This place observes a lot of people from the near districts during the time of snowfall. The Kalinchowk Bhagawati temple in the top of the hill is one of the major pilgrimage beauty. However, if you are looking for a ‘not so extensive escape into nature, Kalinchowk could be a better option. You can see the Mountain views from the top and Cable Car there can also help you to get to the top of the mountain. There is a hiking trail to the mountain as well if you are planning to reach there on foot, enjoying the surrounding. 

Benthanchowk 

Bethanchowk is one of the highest hills in the Mahabharata Range in the southern slope of Kavre district of Nepal. Situated at an altitude of 2900 m above sea level, this place offers the panoramic Himalayan views of the Himalayan Ranges. Few places of Janakpur and Makwanpur can be observed from the hilltop.

The Hill station of Bethanchowk is not so sophisticated, rural and a place with no human settlement. For overnight camping and hiking, this place is best suitable. The viewpoint offers the astounding Himalayan views, best version of sunrise and sunset and mindblowing views of the valleys. This place is also popular as Narayanthan, however, it is utterly known as Bethanchowk. The accommodation and transportation facilities are not available on the mountain top. The trekkers have to sustain on themselves to enjoy the essence of this View tower. During the wintertime, Bethanchowk observes snowfall. This is not so popular, offbeat hiking adventure and requires around 4-5 hours of walking to the top. 

This can be a perfect escape if you are looking for some pristine places to visit around Kathmandu valley. This place could be a night escape with some camping fun, however, you need to have a good plan to get there and sustain. Right from the hiking point of Kavre, you won’t find any shops or human settlement in the mountains. But the views from the top are mindblowing. 

Ilam 

90 kilometres from the border of Kakarvita which is located in eastern Nepal,  Ilam is a beautiful hill district. It covers an area of 1,703- Kilometer square. Ilam is famous for tea and the amazing view of tea gardens with its dense greenery. It is also one of the best places for a glorious view of sunset, sunrise and the Himalayas. Ilam is the famous tourist destination for national and international visitors as a sightseeing place, a picnic spot with its spectacular view of terai land. Due to the biggest tea production area, it is famous worldwide. Ilam is religious as well as a natural place that is blessed with its lush greenery and perfect natural landscape. Besides, the religious place there is a dense forest where you can find the rare animals like Red panda and musk deer, also many herbal plants and many rare species of bird. You get to experience the rhododendrons of many species. Ilam is one of the richest places in a natural landscape, cultural diversity, also the biggest tea industry.
