Pashupatinath Tempe is the oldest Hindu temple in Kathmandu which was built in the 5th century. It is situated in the bank of the Bagmati river. It is the holiest and largest shrine of Hindus which is listed in the World Heritage Site. There are 492 temples and 15 Shivalayas ( shrine of Lord Shiva) to explore. Hindus are allowed to enter the Temple but the Non-Hindus visitors are allowed, as they can view the temple only from across the Bagmati river. This place reflects the great history, art, and culture. 

Swyambunath is located in the small hillock in west Kathmandu. It was built in 460 A.D.  by king Manadeva. This is the best place to observe the religious harmony. Swyambhunath is the oldest religious site and comprises of numerous shrines and monasteries. It is at the top of the hill which offers an excellent view of the entire Kathmandu valley. Also famous as “Monkey Temple”,  Swyambunath is the World Heritage site and is the beautiful place to explore in the hustle and bustle of the Kathmandu valley. 

Boudhanath Stupa is the largest dome structure stupas in the world. It is located 11km from the centre and northeastern outskirts of Kathmandu. Boudhanath is the most popular tourist attraction and the central hub of Buddhist. It is an important spiritual epicentre that offers some insights on the Buddhism philosophy and practices. 

Kathmandu Durbar Square lies in the heart of the city which consists of a royal palace and different temples. Kathmandu durbar square is known as Hanuman Dhoka which was the residence of the Nepali royal family. Durbar square doesn’t only hold the religious and cultural status but also its great art and medieval architecture and fascinating history made it a wonderful place to visit.

Detailed Itinerary

  • DAY 1

    Kathmandu Arrival.

    Your Arrival Time (?) Our representative will meet and greet you at Kathmandu airport and transfer to your hotel.

    At. 06:00 PM: A short briefing about your tour program. If you are arriving late (after 4 PM) then we will have a briefing next morning at 9:00 AM. If any payment is due, then it will be collected during briefing time.

    Meal: Not Included.

  • DAY 2

    Kathmandu Sightseeing (Full Day).

    At. 10:00 AM: After your breakfast,  you will visit for a full day sightseeing of Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Once you complete your sightseeing we will drop you back to your hotel.

    Pashupatinath temple is the largest and holiest shrines for Hindus. This temple, situated on the bank of Bagmati river was built in the 5th century There are around 492 temples, 15 Shivalayas (shrines of Lord Shiva) and 12 Jyotirlinga (phallic shrines) to explore. No entrance fee is charged for SAARC nationals to enter the temple. Although only Hindus are allowed to enter the temple, visitors can clearly see the temple and the activities performed in the temple premises from the eastern bank of the Bagmati river.
     
    Boudhanath is one of the largest stupas in South Asia. It is the central hub of Buddhism in Nepal which is surrounded by hundreds of monasteries. Lichchavi rulers renovated the staple during the 8th century, which has made on the shape of a Mandala. 

    Swayambhunath is one of the most glorious, holiest and oldest Stupa in the world. It is located on a small hillock in west Kathmandu hence commands an excellent view of the valley. The stupa was built in 460 A.D. by King Manadeva, is also known by the name "Monkey Temple".

    Kathmandu Durbar Square is one of the three Durbar Squares of Kathmandu Valley. The Malla king Pratap Malla erected the statue of Hanuman (the Hindu god of power) in this place and it was named Hanuman Dhoka.  Taleju Temple, Tribhuvan Museum, the house of Kumari (Living Goddess), Kasthamandap, the temple of Kal Bhairav along with few other temples are some places to explore.

  • DAY 3

    Fly to Pokhara.

    At. 08:00 AM: After breakfast at the hotel, you will have a flight to Pokhara (approx. 30 min. flight). Upon arrival check-in at the hotel and drive to world peace pagoda.

  • DAY 4

    Visit Sarangkot and Pokhara Sightseeing (Half Day)

    At. 04:30 AM: Early in the morning you will drive to Sarangkot hill for sunrise and the close-up view of Himalayan ranges.
    At. 10:00 AM: After breakfast, you will go for half-day sightseeing to David’s fall, Gupteshwar Mahadev Cave, International Mountain Museum, and Phewa Lake. You can also enjoy a boat ride at Phewa Lake in the evening.

    David's Falls: David's falls is an amazing waterfall in Pokhara Valley which is nearly 500 feet long and runs 100 feet below ground level. It is also known as Patale Chhango which means the underwater world. According to local old people, On 31st July 1961, a swiss couple Davi went swimming but the woman drowned in a pit. From that day the place is known as David's falls.

    Gupteshwor cave: Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, one of the longest caves of Nepal is nearly 3km long. There are some walls dripping water inside the cave and about 40m in, we can see the statue of Lord Shiva. Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave is near from David's falls.

    International Mountain Museum: It was established with an objective of maintaining systematic records of the successful eight thousanders, geographic flora and fauna and human activities in the range. The shape of the museum roof itself resembles mountain skyline to any visitor before entering the museum main gate. This acts as a major learning place for the adventure enthusiasts about mountains and Himalayas. 

    Phewa Lake and Barahi Temple: Beautiful Lake Phewa is the second largest lake of Nepal. It covers an area of about 4.43 sq km with an average depth of about 8.6m, maximum water depth is 19m.  The reflection of Mount Annapurna can be seen on Phewa lake. Another attraction of this lake is Barahi Temple made in pagoda style, which is an island in the middle of Phewa lake.

  • DAY 5

    Flight to Kathmandu, Free time for self explore around Thamel area.

    At. 08:00 AM: After breakfast, flight back to Kathmandu. After you check-in at the hotel, you will have a free day to explore Thamel tourist area. You can also do your shopping around Thamel.

  • DAY 6

    Transfer to Airport.

    At. 10:00 AM:  we will transfer you to the airport from the hotel on time to board the outbound flight. (30 mins drive)
