Bhairav Kunda Trek is the high altitude lake trekking in the Sindhupalchowk district of Nepal. Trekking to Bhairav Kunda starts with a drive to Jalbire from Kathmandu valley. The rough and bumpy road yet amazing natural offerings to the Jalbire makes the beginning a wonderful one. Jalbire is rich in Newari culture and home to the Hindu temple of god Bishnu which lies on the banks of the Balephi River. The Jalbire is also a major point in the ancient Nepal Tibet trade route.
The trek begins from Jalbire. Walking through the waterfalls and small Tamang villages all the way to Chanaute offers amazing experiences in the diverse places of Nepal. In Chanaute, the Brahmins and Chettri people live offering some cultural variations in the trek. The further trek to Khanigaun offers beautiful villages, stunningly terraced fields, and streams along with the Newari culture.
The steep ascends from Kanigaun will take you to the wonderful Forest camp where you will be exploring Rhododendron forest and the occasional grazing pasture. The nomad houses for cattle, beautiful birds and wild animals will make you feel like a true naturalistic explorer to the mountains. Also, early in the morning, you will visit the Bhairav Kunda top, from where you can have the wonderful sunrise views. The further trek from Bhairav Kunda will take you to the Sherpa Gaun. The returning trek further to Larche and Hot Spring will take you to the Kodari Highway from where you can get a drive to Kathmandu.
