Day 1

Arrival in Tbilisi.

At (Your Arrival Time): Welcome to Tbilisi! Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia, popular for its ancient fortresses, picturesque parks, and historic museums! Upon arrival at the Tbilisi International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our representative, who will ensure your transfer to the hotel. Upon arrival at your hotel, complete the check-in procedure and enjoy your overnight stay at the hotel, where you can take this time to relax and destress.

Day 2

Tbilisi City Sightseeing.

At 07:00 AM: After having a fulfilling breakfast at the hotel, you will then start your exciting walking tour of Old Tbilisi, a historic site of the city that has also been listed under the UNESCO World Heritage Site. In Old Tbilisi, your walking tour will begin from Rike Park, which also has the renowned Mtkvari River flowing just beside it. You will take a scenic stroll around the park and from here you will take a cable car ride to Narikala Fortress. After this exciting ride, you will then be walking down a narrow and picturesque street, decorated with lush green gardens and uniquely styled Tbilisi buildings, where you’ll be passing by the only mosque in the city, which is the Tbilisi Juma Mosque.

You’ll also see the picturesque Meenachil River flowing right beside the Juma Mosque that flows straight through the Kura River, where there is a gorge (a narrow valley that runs through small streams of rivers) located here. From here, you’ll be walking uphill through the gorge that leads to the scenic Dzveli Tbilisi Sulphur waterfall that is situated right in the heart of Tbilisi. Next, as your walking journey continues, you will also pass by Abanotubani, a district that is popular for its sulfur bath resorts. Along the streets of this historic district, you will witness many charming restaurants/cafes popular for top-notch Georgian cuisine and wine. 

Following this, you will then cross the spectacular “Bridge of Peace” that connects Erekle II Street and Rike Park and stretches over 150 meters. While you’re crossing this stunning bridge, you will also get to catch a glimpse of Tbilisi City and its surrounding areas and afterwards be stopping by the famous Sioni Cathedral (also known as Zion Cathedral of the Dormition of Tbilisi) that has served as a major pilgrimage site in Georgia for decades. Next, on your walking journey to conquer is the oldest surviving religious church in Tbilisi, which is the Anchiskhati Basilica dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Finally, the last destination on the Tbilisi city sightseeing tour is the Gabriadze Clock Tower and the Theatre of Marionette Rezo Gabriadze, two top tourist attractions of Tbilisi. 

Additionally, the clock tower puts on a fun mini show every day for visitors to see, where a puppet-sized angel emerges from the tower every hour and rings the bell of the tower with a small mallet, indicating the time change. A local legend believed here is that when a passerby hears the angel ringing the bell and then makes a wish during this time, their wish gets fulfilled! Finally, your fantastic walking tour of Tbilisi City sightseeing has come to an end! Later, after the walking tour gets over, head back to your hotel in Tbilisi and enjoy your overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3

Ananuri and Kazbegi Sightseeing.

At 07:00 AM: After having a fulfilling breakfast at the hotel, you will firstly be visiting the Ananuri Fortress Complex in Ananuri, which takes approximately 1-2 hours to reach from Tbilisi. Being a must-see site for history lovers, this complex site is said to be the best-preserved cultural destination in Georgia! Additionally, this fortress was ruled under the command of Dukes of Aragvi (a ruling dynasty in Georgia) for seven centuries and consists of many historical churches, castles, and traditional towers, along with a separate area for the bell tower and water reservoir. What’s more is that you can also see the phenomenal Zhinvali Reservoir from the fortress as well. 

Next, along the way to Kazbegi, you’ll also be passing by the Georgian Military Road and Gudauri Ski Resort and then proceed towards Stepantsminda, a small town in Kazbegi where you’ll be visiting the nearby Gergeti Trinity Church, which was built during the 16th century and is one of the most picturesque sites in Kazbegi. As this church is perched on top of a hill and located in front of the famous Kazbegi Mountain, you’ll also be able to catch a glimpse of this mountain range on warm, sunny days. Consisting of two stories, the Gergeti Trinity Church comprises the main church, a bell tower, and council buildings, where inside the church you are able to see artworks of Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, St. Nino, and the Holy Trinity as well. 

After visiting this religious site, you will then return back to Tbilisi, which takes approximately 3-4 hours to reach. After reaching Tbilisi, head back to your hotel and enjoy your overnight stay.

Note: The visibility of Kazbegi Mountain and its surrounding areas can be impacted by the weather conditions from Gergeti Trinity Church. Additionally, you will only see the Georgian Military Road and Gudauri Ski Resort from the outside.

Day 4

Kakheti Region Sightseeing.

At 07:00 AM: After having a fulfilling breakfast at the hotel, get ready for the day’s fantastic sightseeing! This day you will tour some of the most prominent destinations of the Kakheti region, which takes approximately 2-3 hours to reach. The first destination you will visit in this region is the Bodbe Monastery (also known as St. Nino’s Cathedral), a major pilgrimage that also houses the tomb of the saint (who was a popular Christian missionary) in Georgia. Furthermore, you will see that the monastery consists of a holy church, a bell tower, and a picturesque spring, where many pilgrims believe that the waters of this spring contain many healing properties.

Following this, you will proceed towards Sighnaghi, also nicknamed the city of love, where you will also roam around the popular city center area full of history and culture. After this, you’ll then travel through an uphill path to reach the Sighnaghi Wall to enjoy the mesmerizing views of the Kakheti city, Alazani Valley, and the Caucasus Mountains. In the past, this wall stretching over 4 kilometers was built to protect the city from attacks and invaders but at the current time, it serves as a top tourist attraction where you’re able to catch jaw-dropping views of its surrounding areas! 

Note: The visibility of the Alazani Valley, Caucasus Mountains and Kakheti city can be impacted by the weather conditions when you visit the Sighnaghi Wall.

After all the sightseeing activities are over for the day, head back to your hotel, and you can enjoy your overnight stay in Tbilisi.

Day 5

Mtskheta and Uplistsikhe Sightseeing.

At 07:00 AM: After having a fulfilling breakfast, you will drive towards Mtskheta, which takes 1-2 hours to reach. In the picturesque city of Mtskheta, you will be exploring two UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Firstly, you will visit the Jvari Monastery, where inside this holy site, you will see a big cross with many frescoes, icons, and paintings of religious figures in Christianity. Additionally, there is also a praying area for pilgrims where one can burn incense and candles as a symbolic act of prayer. Perfect for architecture enthusiasts and nature lovers, the monastery is a phenomenal site to explore, as it is located on top of a rocky cliff from where you can also see the spectacular Mtkvari and Aragi rivers flowing along with a panoramic view of the beautiful city of Mtskheta.

Next, you will visit the Svetitskhoveli Church, which is believed to be the first church ever to be established in Georgia!
