Tashi Lapcha Pass trek via Rolwaling valley is a 14 days trek that is worth exploring and strenuous in the other hand. Your trekking begins with a drive to Gongar Khola from Kathmandu. The drive will take you to the Simigaun  (2019 m)  which is the starting point of the trek. The further trail will take you to the Dongang through the lush green forest, waterfalls, Nepal’s second cantilever bridge, fast-flowing Rolwaling River with spectacular views of Rolwaling Mountain Range in the backdrop. Dongang is a part of Rolwaling valley, the entry point. 

The further trail from Dongang will take you to the wonderful Bedding. You can explore the Rolwaling river adorned with the beautiful Gaurishankar Himal in the backdrop of the mountains. The alluring landscape of the Rolwaling valley is very astonishing. The Na village is also the major attraction of the trek lies beneath the Tsho Rolpa Glacier in the mountains. The trek from Bedding will take you to the beautiful Na gaun which is also the oldest settlement of the Rolwaling valley. 

Trailing further you will explore the wonderful Tsho Rolpa Lake. The Ladung Himal Range and Mahalangur Himal Range are spectacular from the Tsho Rolpa and wonderful views of the mountains make it a wonderful place to visit. After visiting Tsho Rolpa Lake, you will trek forward to the wonderful Tolumbhu Buka following the lateral moraines if Trakding glacier. 

The trek from Tolumbhu Buka will take you to the Tashi Lapcha La Pass which is also the highest point of the trek. This is the most technical and difficult passing in the entire trek. Ascending on the bank of Drolambau Glacier on a steep trail covered in moraines will take you to the Tashi Lapcha Top. You can see the mindblowing Himalayan beauty from the top of Tashi Lapcha La pass. The beautiful panorama of the Khumbu Himalayas as well as the peaks of the Rolwaling region will take you to Thyangbo

Trekking from the Thyangbo will take you to Khumbu and Namche Bazaar. You can explore the beautiful scenery from the Sherpa capital along with the mind-blowing Himalayan views. The trek from Namche Bazaar will take you to the Lukla from where you will have a flight back to the Kathmandu valley. The Tashi Lapcha Pass Trek via Rolwaling valley is strenuous trek for which you need to obtain some permits as well. Detailed Itinerary

  • DAY 1

    Arrival at Kathmandu, Transfer to Hotel.

    Your Arrival Time (?) Our office representative will meet and greet you at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu.

    At 06:00 PM: In the evening we will meet for a coffee and will brief you the details of your trek program.

  • DAY 2

    Kathmandu Sightseeing And Trek Preparation.

    At 08:00 AM: After breakfast get ready for full day sightseeing of Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath stupa, Boudhanath stupa and Patan Durbar Square. Once you complete your sightseeing we will drop you back to your hotel. You will have a free evening for your shopping and trek preparation.

  • DAY 3

    Drive to Gongar Khola.

    At 07:00 AM: On the first day, we will drive to Gongar Khola. Gongar Khola is 195 Km away from Kathmandu. The driving route is pretty simple which goes all the way from Koteshwor – Bhaktapur – Dhulikhel – Dolalghat – Charikot (Headquarter) – Jagat – Gongar Khola. The main highlights of the day are Bhorley Jharna, Gongar Khola, Upper Tamakoshi River, Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower, Upper Tamakoshi Tunnel, Waterfall Near to the Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project, Chet Chet Suspension Bridge and the Simigau Village.

  • DAY 4

    Trek to Dongang.

    At 07:00 AM:  Simigau is about a 2 Hours walk from Gongar Khola. Simigau Village (2019 m) is located at the top of the hills. The Trail from the Simigau to Surmuche is pleasant and full of excitement. The lush green forest with the up and down trail from the Simigau is a moderate level of difficulty for the average trekkers where we have to cross the Nepal 2nd Cantilever Bridge. We will be seeing lots of Waterfall and fast-flowing Rolwaling river with the Rolwaling mountain range on the backdrops. Sur Much to Kyalche is about 2 hours of walking distance and in between these two stops, we will be crossing some locally invented bridges and  Waterfalls on the way. Kyalche and Dongang are very near to each other and requires about 40mins of walking. Once you reached the Dongang, you are officially entering the Rolwaling Valley. Rolwaling is an inner Himalayan valley, considered to be a Beyal or holy sanctuary by the local Buddhist Sherpa inhabitants.

  • DAY 5

    Trek to Bedding.

    At 07:00 AM: Our trail ascends through rocky road following the bank of Rolwaling River gazing into the horizon adorned with beautiful Gaurishankar Himal. There are many waterfalls on today’s trail adding allure to the already beautiful landscape. We walk on a flat trail before entering the Sherpa village of Bedding, the largest village in Rolwaling valley, located by the river.

  • DAY 6

    Trek to Na Village.

    At 07:00 AM: Na Gaon is situated just beneath the Tsho Rolpa Glacier Lake and is surrounded by some excellent pinnacles. Na Gaon is also considered the oldest settlement of Rolwaling valley. 
    Elevation: 4,180M

  • DAY 7

    Trek to Tsho Rolpa Lake.

    At 07:00 AM: After an early breakfast, we’ll ascend gradually to find the Himalayan Lake filled with chilling water from the glaciers. The surrounding view of Ladung Himal Range and Mahalangur Himal Range is sure to purify your soul. We will move along the bank of Rolwaling River and walk on a frozen trail to reach Tsho Rolpa, one of the largest glacial lakes in Nepal. The deep blue water of the tranquil lake seated on the foot of Chobuje makes the tough climb worth it. We’ll stay overnight at Tsho Rolpa.

  • DAY 8

    Trek to Tolumbhu Buka.

    At 07:00 AM: Starting early morning, we will head towards Tolumbhu Buka. We’ll walk all the way to the end of Tsho Rolpa and follow the lateral moraines of Trakding Glacier as we enjoy the view of the surrounding snowy peaks. Still walking along the frozen and slippery path. 
    Elevation: 4,850M

  • DAY 9

    Trek to Thyangbo via Tashi Lapcha Pass.

    At 07:00 AM: Today we leave the Rolwaling region and enter the Khumbu region via Tashi Lapcha La Pass (5755m). We will ascend on the bank of Drolambau Glacier on a steep trail covered in moraines. Upon reaching the top of Tashi Lapcha La, we will have a mind-blowing panorama of the Khumbu Himalayas as well as the peaks of Rolwaling region. From there, we’ll continue our downhill trek to reach Thyangbo where we’ll camp overnight.
    Elevation: 5,755M

  • DAY 10

    Trek to Khumjung.

    At 07:00 AM: After early morning breakfast, we will start our journey towards Khumjung. Khumjung is located at the bed of Mt. Khumbu Yul Lha and is the largest Sherpa village in Khumbu. Khumjung is also famously the home of first Edmund Hilary school project. An age-old monastery and rich Sherpa culture is the main attraction of this place where we’ll stay overnight.
    Elevation: 3,600M

  • DAY 11

    Trek to Namche Bazaar.

    At 07:00 AM: After a short downhill trek through the picturesque village of Khund, we’ll reach Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is a Sherpa town vibrant with many shops and eateries catering to the trekkers and peak climbers in Khumbu and is thusly known as the Gateway to Everest. You will have a breathtaking view of the mighty Everest (8848m) from this area. 
    Elevation: 3,440M

  • DAY 12

    Trek to Lukla.

    At 07:00 AM: After having morning breakfast in Namche Bazaar, we’ll continue our downhill trek to cross Dudh Koshi River via multiple suspension bridges and pass small villages with Mani walls, prayer wheels, and prayer flags to reach Phakding. After crossing several suspension bridges and monasteries, we’ll reach Lukla where we’ll stay overnight.
    Elevation: 2,860M

  • DAY 13

    Flight Back to Kathmandu.

    At 07:00 AM: We’ll fly back to Kathmandu after our long and exhilarating mountain trip. The early morning flight will take you to Kathmandu valley while we enjoy an aerial view of the high Himalayas one last time during this trip. Stay overnight at your hotel and we also enjoy a farewell dinner

    Departure.
