The Renjo La Pass, Kong Ma La Pass and Cho La Pass are the three passes that trail the trekking to the Everest region of Nepal. Everest Three Passes Trek starts with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. You will trek to Phakding which passes through, Chaurikharka, Ghat finally leading to the beautiful Phakding village. The further trail leads you to the Sherpa Kingdom and Gateway to Mount Everest- Namche Bazaar. Small and beautiful villages of Monjo, Jorsalle and Benkar along the way to Namche Bazaar will facilitate you with the wonderful beauty of the world’s highest national park, Sagarmatha National Park. You will have some acclimatization in Nache and a little hike to the viewpoint from where the clear view of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Amadablam, Thamserku and Kongde Ri can be seen. 

Trailing further will take you to the wonderful Tengboche. It is also popular for its amazing Tengboche Monastery and the Himalayan views. After Tengboche, you will have a trek to Dingboche (4250 m) through a beautiful rhododendron forest at Deboche, Imja Khola, Pangboche (3980 m) and Somare Village. You will trek further towards Chhukung village where you can explore the alpine landscape. The trekking to Lobuche via Kang Ma La Pass will be an adventurous journey with majestic views of Lhotse Shar, Imja Tshe, Amadablam and other numerous peaks. The passing is challenging however, the views from along the trail are mindblowing and best of the region.

After crossing Kang Ma La Pass, you will reach Gorakshep and Everest Base Camp. The Khumbu glacier along the way is worth explore and you can see the mindblowing views of Khubutse, Mt. Pumori, Changtse and Khumbu icefall marking the base of the world’s top Mount Everest. The further trek to Kalapaththar and Dzongla is amazing. You can see the spectacular mountain views of Mt. Pumori (7,169m), Mt. Everest (8,848m) and Lhotse (8516m), the Tibetan peak Changtse, Nuptse (7861m), Amadablam and countless other smaller peaks.

The trekking will awaiting for your next pass Cho La pass from Dzongla to Thanna. The trail along the glacier marked by cairns with some difficulties will reward you with the best views of the mountains and glaciers. You will trek downward to Thannak exploring the Tibetan mountains. The trail further takes you to Gokyo Ri from where you can see the best views of Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu and Lhotse. This is the day to explore the glacial beauty of the mountains in the Everest region of Nepal. 

The next crossing Renjo la pass is the best passes of all and facilitates you with the wonderful views of the implausible peaks such as Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse, Cho-Oyu, and Gychung Kang. The downhill trek will take you to Lunde and Thame finally taking you to the Namche Bazaar. Further hiking from Namche Bazaar will take you to the awe-inspiring Lukla. A returning flight from Lukla will take you to the capital Kathmandu. 

Everest Three Passes Trek is strenuous yet rewarding trekking to the Everest region of Nepal. The crossings and the passes are difficult but you get to explore the mindblowing Himalayan beauty. Detailed Itinerary

  • DAY 1

    Kathmandu Arrival, Transfer to Hotel.

    Your Arrival Time (?) Our office representative will meet and greet you at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu.

    At 06:00 PM: In the evening we will meet for a coffee and will brief you the details of your trek program.
    Elevation: 1,350M

    Meal: Not Included.

  • DAY 2

    Kathmandu Sightseeing, Trek Preperation Day.

    At 10:00 AM: You will visit for a full day sightseeing of Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath. Besides sightseeing, you can do the required shopping for your trek.

  • DAY 3

    Flight to Lukla, Trek to Phakding

    At 05:30 AM: We will drive towards the airport for our Lukla flight. The drop to the airport will be according to the flight time. The 30 minutes adventurous flight will land at the Lukla airport and our adventure starts there. Our first-day trek start from Lukla towards Phakding. The amazing sherpa and never fails to surprise. The trail then passes through, Chaurikharka, Ghat finally leading to the beautiful Phakding village at the bank of the Dudh Koshi river. Overnight at Phakding.
    Elevation: 2,652M

  • DAY 4

    Trek to Namche Bazaar.

    At 08:00 AM: After breakfast, we will start our second-day trek towards the gateway of Everest, Namche Bazaar. For most people, this second day might be the hardest day as you will have to climb steeply before reaching Namche Bazaar. The trail follows the upstream of Dudh Koshi river. The trail passes through the Village of Monjo, Jorsalle, Benkar before reaching Namche Bazaar. From Monjo the world’s highest national park, Sagarmatha national park starts. The trek duration is 7-8 hours. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.
    Elevation: 3,440M

    Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included.

  • DAY 5

    Acclimatization and Exploration Day.

    At 07:00 AM: Today is the rest day at Namche bazaar for the acclimatization. After breakfast, we will hike to the viewpoint that is located just above Namche Bazaar. From the viewpoint, the clear view of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Amadablam, Thamserku and Kongde Ri can be seen. After spending a few time at the viewpoint we will return back to Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.
    Elevation: 3,440M

  • DAY 6

    Trek to Tengboche.

    At 08:00 AM: After breakfast, we will move towards the village of the monastery. Tengboche has one of the biggest monasteries in the Khumbu region. The trail to Tengboche first starts with the flat surface gradually going into steep down to cross the river at Phunki Tenga and finally starting the steep climb to the Tengboche village.

    At 03:00 PM: Tengboche monastery visit. The trek today is 6-7 hours of walking. Overnight at Tengboche village.
    Elevation: 3,860M

  • DAY 7

    Trek to Dingboche.

    At 08:00 AM: After breakfast, we will start from the Tengboche Monastery, we take a trail through rhododendron forest to Deboche and further to Imja Khola. Then we climb to Pangboche village (3930m), a Sherpa village with the oldest monastery in the region. We will then start moving towards another village Somare and reach the beautiful Dingboche village (4250m). Overnight stay in Dingboche village.
    Elevation: 4,250M

  • DAY 8

    Trek to Chhukung Village.

    At 08:00 AM: After breakfast, we will start our trek towards the Chukkung village. We will follow the upstream of Imja Khola. From Dingboche, we will be leaving the main trail that leads to Everest Base camp. The trek duration of today’s trek is 3-4 hours through the stone-walled fields and alpine landscape. After reaching Chhukung we will go for the exploration of the area which will help us to acclimatize for our pass day. Overnight at teahouse.
    Elevation: 4,760M

  • DAY 9

    Trek to Lobuche via Kongma La Pass.

    At 05:00 AM: Today we will be crossing the first pass of our three pass trek. The trail for the pass is strenuous and challenging. This is the highest pass of our three pass trek. We will be carrying enough water and snacks for the day as there are no tea shops or tea house available in the trail. Majestic views of Lhotse Shar, Imja Tshe, Amadablam and other numerous peaks are seen throughout the trail. A beautiful lake is seen from the pass before we head down towards the Lobuche village. Overnight at teahouse.
    Elevation: 4,930M

    Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included.

  • DAY 10

    Hike to Gorakshep and Everest Base Camp.

    At 08:00 AM: Today is another important day of our trek as we will be at the base camp of Everest. The walk towards Everest is along the Khumbu Glacier. We will reach the small village of Gorakshep, where we will have our lunch. After having our lunch the trail will lead us to the Mt. Everest base camp at an altitude of 5,364 meters. Everest base camp gives you an unforgettable view of Khubutse, Mt. Pumori, Changtse and Khumbu icefall instead of Mt. Everest.
    Elevation: 5,150M

    Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included.

  • DAY 11

    Hike to Kala Patthar, Trek to Dzongla.

    At 05:00 AM: Early morning we will climb to Kala Patthar for sunrise view. From the top we will see a 360-degree view of some of the highest peaks in the world including Mt. Pumori (7,169m), Mt. Everest (8,848m) and Lhotse (8516m), the Tibetan peak Changtse, Nuptse (7861m), Amadablam and countless other smaller peaks. We will have our breakfast coming back and after breakfast, we will descend down towards Lobuche following the Glacial valley and change the path to Dzongla. Overnight at Dzongla.
    Elevation: 4,740M

  • DAY 12

    Trek to Thanna via Cho La Pass.

    At 05:00 AM: Today is the second pass day and we start early with a gentle climb at first hours towards the Cho La Pass. The trail crosses the glacier which is marked by cairns. This is the most technical pass of our entire three pass trek. Once we reach Cho La Pass, the trail goes downward to Thannak. From Thannak the views of Cho Oyu mountain and other Tibetan mountain are seen. Overnight at Thannak Teahouse.
    Elevation: 4,700M

    Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included.

  • DAY 13

    Trek to Gokyo, Exploration of Gokyo Ri.

    At 07:30 AM:  After breakfast, we then start our trek passing by the lakes at Gokyo which pours down to the western division of the Ngozumpa Glacier. We go diagonally through the three outstanding lakes and traverse the third lake, Dudh Pokhari, and on the East Bank, we can mark the community of Gokyo. Walking along the lake, we can view the splendid summits of Cho Oyu and Gyachung Kang. We will have our lunch at Gokyo before we start to climb Gokyo Ri (5360m) which lies above the village. The steep climb of about 3-4 hours to the top is quite strenuous, yet rewards with one of the best views of Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu and Lhotse. Spending some time at Top we will return back to Gokyo. Overnight stay in Gokyo.

  • DAY 14

    Trek to Lunde via Renjo La Pass.

    At 05:00 AM: Today is the last pass day. Renjo La is the most beautiful pass among all three passes. The views of Rolwaling Himalayas and Khumbu Himalayas are seen at 360 degrees. We will start early in the morning and reach the pass before the strong winds and clouds start to build up. The views of Ngozumpa glacier, upper Gokyo Valley and the implausible peaks such as Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse, Cho-Oyu, and Gychung Kang are amazing from the pass. After the pass, we then start to descend down words the Lunde village.  Overnight stay in teahouse.

  • DAY 15

    Trek to Thame.

    At 08:00 AM: After breakfast, we will further descend down to Thame village. Thame village holds the highest number of Everest summits. afternoon we will visit the Thame monastery and observe the Buddhist and Sherpa culture.
    Elevation: 3,820M

    Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included.

  • DAY 16

    Trek to Namche Bazaar.

    At 08:00 AM: After breakfast, we will further move downwards towards the Namche bazaar via Monga la(4000m). Overnight at Namche Bazaar.
    Elevation: 3,440M

    Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included.

  • DAY 17

    Trek to Lukla.

    At 08:00 AM: Today is the last day of our three pass trek and will further move downwards to reach our last destination of the trek Lukla. Overnight at Lukla.

  • DAY 18

    Flight to Kathmandu.

    At 06:00 AM: On this day we are returning to Kathmandu by flight. You will get shopping time in Kathmandu and we will have a farewell Nepali dinner together.

  • DAY 19

    Departure.

    You will be free until your flight time; we will drop you at Kathmandu Airport 3 hour before your flight.
