The major attractions in this trek include the Lauri Binayak climb, Gosaikunda, a very sacred lake for Hindus and unique culture and traditions. The trek starts from Sundarijal, 14 Km from Kathmandu and ends at Dhunche, The headquarter of Rasuwa District. During the entire trek, you can observe an excellent view of the Langtang range and besides that, you can also see the mountain range from east to west i.e. from Everest to Annapurna. The trail is not so hard but sometimes the climb is very steep making it more adventurous. This trek is moderate but in some places, the trail is a bit challenging.

Rara Lake is five kilometres long and two kilometres wide and is the largest lake in Nepal. The National Park is one of the best places in Nepal to see wildlife: musk deer, leopards, Ghoral, tahr, Himalayan black bear, and the rare red panda are all native. The park is also a bird watcher’s delight, especially during November and April when many species of birds visit during their seasonal migration. The trek begins with a flight to Jumla over an hour flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. Rara Lake (Rara Taal) is the biggest lake of Nepal. It lies in Rara Village Development Committee, Mugu District, Karnali Zone in Western Nepal and falls under the Rara National Park.

Rara Lake lies at an altitude above 2,990 meters (9,810 ft) above sea level covering an area of 10.8 km2. The Lake having a length of 5 kilometres and a width of 3 kilometres has a maximum depth of 167 metres (548 ft). The main occupation of the people living around the area is agriculture. People also rear goats and extract medicinal herbs and sell them for their living. Thakur society is dominant in the community. Thakur Baba’s Temple is situated in the southeast corner of the lake. Local people believe that the god Thakur shot an arrow to open the passage of the lake reducing the damage caused by flooding. You can either stay at a hotel or go for homestay which is relatively cheap compared to Hotels. You will definitely see and feel like heaven once you are there.

Upper Mustang Trek

Manang Trek

Manang (3540m) is one of the largest villages in Manang district and one of the last trekking stops for trekkers walking the famous Annapurna Circuit trek. From Manang, the route continues to Thorung La (pass) at 5.415 meters above the sea level which connects Manang district to Mustang District by providing a route between the town of Manang and the village Muktinath. This trail to Muktinath has been used by the locals for hundreds of years to transport huge herds of sheep and yak in and out of Manang.

Chisapani Short Trek

This route is especially suitable for the domestic and foreigner tourists who cannot trek in the alpine mountains or are on a short visit to Nepal. The route starts at Kathmandu Sundarijal and ends at Kavre Panauti, The four-day trek is 76 km and involves a total 24 to 30-hour walk in 4 days.
